4 Ways to Transfer Files Between Mac and Android Wirelessly

If you own a Mac and an Android, you must be looking for a way to transfer files from Android to Mac and vice versa because searching for a data cable every time you want to share something can be cumbersome. So, here are the four easiest yet most reliable methods to transfer files between your Mac and Android devices.

N Ways to Transfer Files Between Mac and Android

The Android File Transfer app is prone to errors at the slightest jerk when transferring files with the USB cable. Hence, starting the whole process repeatedly and relying on one traditional method can be frustrating. Let’s look at some of the simplest methods to do so.

1. NearDrop and WarpShare

If you ever wanted to use AirDrop or Nearby Share to transfer files from Android to Mac, you can now. Two developers on GitHub have made sharing files from your Android smartphone to your Mac extremely easy.

However, the developers have yet to find a way to use it reversely, i.e., from Mac to Android phones. The apps NearDrop and WarpShare use Nearby Share and AirDrop protocols, respectively, and here is how to use them.

Quick Tip: Currently, NearDrop, which uses the Nearby Share protocol, is much faster than WarpShare, which uses AirDrop.

I. Transfer Using NearDrop

Step 1: Download NearDrop using the link below on your Mac. Go to the downloaded zip file and double-click on it to extract it.

Step 2: Right-click on the extracted app and click Open.

Step 4: Open System Settings on your Mac and go to Notifications > NearDrop.
