How to Create, Share and Delete Your iCloud Calendar on iPhone

In the iPhone Calendar app, you can create calendars linked to your iCloud account. You can also share the calendar with other iCloud users, making it easy for them to view your schedule. Apart from the ability to view your schedule, other iCloud users can add holidays or events or change events.

When you do not want changes made to your iCloud calendar, you can place restrictions on it. For example, you can grant read-only access to other iCloud users. You can also revoke previously granted access. Here’s how to create, share and delete your iCloud calendar.

How to Add iCloud Calendars to Your iPhone

Before you can send or accept invites on your iPhone, you must set up your Calendar. Here’s how to do so:

Step 1: On the iPhone home screen, tap the Calendar app.

Step 2: At the bottom of the screen, tap Calendars.

Step 3: At the bottom-left corner of the screen, tap Add Calendar.

Step 4: Tap Add Calendar to create an iCloud Calendar.

Step 5: Enter a Calendar Name for your iCloud Calendar and choose a color.

Step 6: Tap Done at the top-right corner of the page to save your new calendar.

How to Share an Unrestricted iCloud Calendar From Your iPhone

After creating the iCloud calendar, here’s how you can share it with other iCloud users.

Step 1: On the iPhone home screen, tap the Calendar app.

Step 2: At the bottom of the screen, tap Calendars.

Step 3: Tap the ‘i’ icon next to the iCloud calendar you want to share.

Step 4: Tap Add Person.

Step 5: In the To field of the Add Person page, enter the email address of your invitee. You can also tap the + sign to select your invitees from your phone’s contact list.

Step 6: Tap Add at the top-right of the page to complete share.

How to Share a Read-Only Calendar on Your iPhone

If you do not want to grant edit access to your iCloud Calendar, before sharing it ensure you restrict it to a read-only version. Here’s how to do so:

Step 1: On the iPhone home screen, tap the Calendar app.

Step 2: At the bottom of the screen, tap Calendars.

Step 3: Tap the ‘i’ icon next to the iCloud calendar you want to share.

Step 4: Tap the toggle beside Public Calendar to enable it.

Step 5: Tap Share Link to copy or send the URL using your preferred app.

How to Edit Permissions For Your Shared iCloud Calendar

If you want to restrict a person’s ability to edit your shared calendar or remove their access, here’s what you should do.

Step 1: On the iPhone home screen, tap the Calendar app.

Step 2: At the bottom of the screen, tap Calendars.

Step 3: Tap the ‘i’ next to the iCloud calendar you want to restrict.

Step 4: In the Shared With section, tap the person’s name.

Step 5: Select any of the following to edit permissions on your shared calendar:

  • Tap the toggle beside Allow Editing to remove editing rights
  • Tap Stop Sharing to withdraw access

How to Delete an iCloud Calendar

If you no longer need the iCloud Calendar, you can delete it. Here’s how to do so.

Step 1: On the iPhone home screen, tap the Calendar app.

Step 2: At the bottom of the screen, tap Calendars.

Step 3: Tap the ‘i’ icon next to the iCloud calendar you want to delete.

Step 4: Tap Delete Calendar at the bottom of the page.

Syncing Outlook Contacts and Calendars on iPhone

One of the conditions for sharing an iCloud calendar with edit access is that the recipient must have an email address. If you have an Outlook account, you can sync the contacts and calendar with your iPhone to ensure you have them in one location.
