How to Put YouTube in Dark Mode on Phone

With options available within the YouTube mobile app, turning on YouTube’s dark theme is easy. Additionally, you can also use your device’s settings menu to enable dark theme on the YouTube Android and iOS app. Follow the below steps to do it.

1. Using YouTube Mobile App Settings

Step 1: Open the YouTube mobile app.

Or you can also use the Windows 11 settings menu and Chrome’s experimental Flags feature to force YouTube to load in Dark Mode on your web browser. Here’s how to do it.

Step 1: Open YouTube on any web browser.

Step 2: In the top-right corner, click on your profile picture.

Step 3: Then, click on Appearance.

3. Using Chrome Flags

Step 1: Click on Search and type Chrome. Then, open Chrome from the search results.

Step 3: In the search bar, type Auto Dark Mode.

Step 4: Then, go to the ‘Auto Dark Mode for Web Contents’ flag and click on the drop-down.

Click on Reload

This will now force all Chrome websites to load in Dark Mode, including the YouTube desktop app. You can turn this off by selecting the Default option and restarting Chrome.
